Chapter 28: Like to be bossy?
The next morning, Ji Su woke up at dawn.
He blinked his long eyelashes in confusion, realizing that he had somehow managed to sleep in his bed.
Suddenly coming to his senses, Ji Su sat up his upper body and the thin blanket slipped from his waist.
He looked around, didn't see Gu Zhao in the bedroom, and with a sigh of relief, collapsed back into bed.
Ji Su closed her eyes and unconsciously rubbed her cheek against the soft pillowcase, her nose catching a cold, woody scent, exactly like Gu Zhao's, only much lighter.
As soon as Gu Zhao pushed open the door, he saw this scene.
Sleepy red cheeks rubbing back and forth on her own pillow, like a dazed kitten, defenseless, good and pretty.
Gu Zhao stood admiring the doorway for a few moments and raised his hand to knock, "Awake?"
Ji Su immediately opened her eyes and sat up from the bed, "I'm awake."
The black shirt he was wearing was already loose, and his sleeping position was not honest, the loose collar slipped down from one shoulder, revealing his delicate collarbone and snow-white shoulders, and there was a not-so-obvious finger mark on his shoulder.
Those were the marks from yesterday in the bathroom, obviously not too hard, but I couldn't help that the skin was too tender.
Gu Zhao's throat knots moved, and his vision drooped slightly, hiding the color in his eyes.
Ji Su got out of bed, tugging at the hem of his shirt with anxious fingers, "That ...... I remember I slept on the couch last night, I don't know why ......"
Gu Zhao raised his eyes, "What?"
Ji Su asked cautiously, "Was it me who crawled into your bed in the middle of the night in a daze?"
Gu Zhao: "Uh-huh."
Ji Su frowned slightly, "I remember I don't have sleepwalking disorder, why would I sleepwalk in the middle of the night ......"
"Go wash up first." Gu Zhao interrupted his self-talk, "I made breakfast."
"Oh good." Ji Su came back to her senses and offered an apology, "I'm really sorry, I must have squeezed you last night."
"It's okay." Gu Zhao turned around, "I'll find you a new pair of pants."
Ji Su responded, "Yes, thank you."
He shuffled out of the bathroom and saw a pair of black pants spread out on the bed, picking them up and changing into them, rolling up the long legs two more times before heading in the direction of the living room.
Just outside the bedroom door, his keen nose caught the aroma of food.
Gu Zhao serves up two steaming bowls of noodles with shredded bok choy and pork, soup dumplings from the breakfast store downstairs on the table, and a side of crisp, diced pickled cucumber, which looks appetizing.
Ji Su pulled back her chair, "What a great breakfast."
Gu Zhao sat down across from him, "Taste it."
"Good." Ji Su picked up her chopsticks, took a taste, and didn't spare any compliments, "Yummy, a hundred times better than the noodles I made."
Gu Zhao smiled very softly, "Eat."
Ji Su took a few more bites and suddenly stopped, the ends of her eyes vaguely red.
"What's wrong?" Gu Zhao noticed the difference in his appearance, "The noodles are too hot?"
"A little ......" Ji Su lifted her eyes and curved her lips into a smile, "It's okay, I accidentally got caught in the heat."
He left home early, lived in school since middle school, and occasionally came home on holidays to eat at the same table as the others, never being asked what he wanted to eat, and never having a meal specially cooked for him like this.
Gu Zhao looked at him for several seconds before speaking, "Put it aside to cool down for a while and eat the soup dumplings first."
"Good." Ji Su answered, pushing the noodle bowl to the side a little, picking up a soup dumpling and taking a small bite through one of the tips.
"So fresh." He licked the soup from around his lips, "How did you know I like soup dumplings?"
"How do I know?" Gu Zhao let out a laugh, "Didn't you tell me that?"
"When did I-" Ji Su's words trailed off, her tone faded, "I think I said ......"
During the time he and G were online dating, they talked about so many topics that he forgot many of the things he said off the top of his own head, but he didn't realize that Gu Zhao had remembered ......
After breakfast, Ji Su wanted to collect the clothes, but was stopped by Gu Zhao: "Hang them out to dry first, I'll bring them to you next time."
Ji Su didn't think much about it, "Okay, then I'll trouble you."
He wasn't short of this set of clothes to wear anyway, and it was really inconvenient to carry around wet clothes.
It didn't take long for the two to drive back to the school.
It's Saturday and there aren't many students moving around the school, so Gu Zhao drops the man off at the bottom of the dormitory building and stops.
"I'll go up first then." Ji Su gave a small wave, "Thanks for dinner and breakfast."
"Uh-huh." Gu Zhao answered, suddenly extending his hand towards him.
Ji Su instinctively tries to dodge, and pauses just as his body moves.
Can't react too much. Gu Zhao should think he's scared again.
Large, warm hands landed on top of his head, fingers running through the fine, soft hair, and were soon gone.
"There's something in the hair." Gu Zhao flicked it casually, explaining lightly.
Ji Su blinked her eyelashes, "Thanks, I'm off then."
Gu Zhao stood still and watched him walk into the dormitory building, the hand that hung down at his side, slowly twisting his fingers.
*
Ji Su walked to the front of the dormitory and knocked gently on the door.
The door to the dormitory opened with a creak, and Qiao Jin poked her head out.
On a big Saturday morning, the roommates were all sleeping in, and Ji Su didn't want to disturb them, so she sent a message to Qiao Jin in advance.
Qiao Jin dodged out, closed the door falsely, and asked impatiently, "Susu, tell me quickly, what happened last night?"
Ji Su retreated to the entrance of the building and whispered back, "Nothing happened, just a nap at Gu Zhao's house."
"He really didn't do anything?" Qiao Jin reconfirmed.
"No really, didn't hit me or scold me." Ji Su paused, "He even cooked for me, it was delicious."
"I'll be damned ......" Qiao Jin looked incredulous, "It's too magical, the Gu Da schoolmaster is actually a good family man?"
Ji Su laughed at his choice of words, "Maybe."
"Damn!" Qiao Jin suddenly said with a start, "I just realized that what you're wearing isn't your own clothes, look at the size, it can't be Gu Zhao's clothes, right?"
Ji Su looked down at his pants leg, "They are indeed his clothes."
He wasn't actually short for a boy, but Gu Zhao was so tall that he now looked a bit like a little kid stealing adult clothes.
"All wearing the same pants ......" Qiao Jin stroked his chin, "So this is a complete icing of the ice and a handshake for you guys?"
"I guess it kind of is?" Ji Su looked up, "To be honest, I didn't expect Gu Zhao to forgive me so easily either."
When he went to Gu Zhao's house last night, he went with the mindset that he was heading to the execution ground to make a valiant stand, but apart from a little bit of intimidation at the beginning, he was treated very well by his hosts at the back.
"That's great!" Qiao Jin was happy, "From now on, you don't have to hide from Gu Zhao, and I don't have to hide from Zhou Yang!"
Ji Su was puzzled, "Since when have you been avoiding Zhou Yang?"
Qiao Jin disagreed: "In order to help you avoid Gu Zhao, I didn't dare to reply to Zhou Yang's messages before!"
Ji Su: "......"
At that moment, the dormitory door behind them opened again, and Li You walked out, "Ji Su, you're back!"
Ji Su sounded apologetic, "I'm sorry, did I wake you?"
"No no no!" Li You waved her hands repeatedly and couldn't help but be concerned, "But where did you go last night, why didn't you go back to the dormitory?"
Ji Su replied, "I slept at a friend's house last night at ......."
Li You scratched the back of his head, "Okay."
"Since everyone is awake, let's not stand in the hallway." Qiao Jin turned around and walked back, "Go, go, go, go, go back to the dormitory."
Li You hesitated for a moment and opened his mouth to ask, "Ji Su, I recently heard ...... that you are closer to Gu Zhao from the law department?"
"Huh?" Ji Su was slightly stunned, "Who did you hear that from?"
"That's what I heard from others." Li You looked a bit uncomfortable, "I also heard that Gu Zhao is a very difficult person to get along with, I'm a bit worried about you--"
"Gu Zhao is quite nice, not like what people say." Ji Su interrupted for the first time without hearing him out and said in a serious tone, "And he's my friend now."
Li You hurriedly explained, "I'm sorry Ji Su, I didn't mean anything else, I was just worried about you."
Ji Su smiled slightly, "Thanks for worrying, I'm fine."
Li You blushed again for no reason at all when he laughed.
*
Ji Su unilaterally thought that she had become friends with Gu Zhao, or at the very least had taken a big step on the road to becoming friends.
So for the rest of the day, he greeted the other man every time he met him at school, and Gu Zhao didn't disappoint, responding to him every time.
He didn't think deeply enough about why they met so often when the law department was separated from the architecture department by a small half of the school.
Gradually, Ji Su got used to eating with Gu Zhao, going to the library together, and sometimes taking a walk together.
Of course, most of the time it's a foursome, with Qiao Jin and Zhou Yang, and sometimes Wang Mingzhe.
It was another Friday, and Ji Su received a message from Gu Zhao during class.
Gu Zhao: [There's a new Chinese restaurant in the neighborhood, want to try it?]
Ji Su: [Do you want to go eat?]
Gu Zhao: [Uh, do you have time to go together?]
Ji Su: [Yes, when do you want to go?]
Gu Zhao: [I'll pick you up when you get out of class.]
Ji Su: [Okay.]
Ji Su put away his cell phone, put up his professional textbook to block his face, and said very quietly, "Xiao Qiao, let's go out for dinner tonight."
"Going out to eat?" Qiao Jin talks to him in the same position, "Eat what?"
"Gu Zhao said he wanted to try a new restaurant." Ji Su replied back, "I'm going to treat him to dinner tonight."
Because of his guilt over the online scam, he has been trying to take care of Gu Zhao a little more, but when he thinks about it, he's instead being taken care of more by the other guy.
But he can at least treat Gu Zhao to what he wants to eat, which is a small token of appreciation.
"I know." Qiao Jin fished his cell phone out of his pocket, "Then I'll ask Zhou Yang if he's going."
After class, Ji Su picked up her backpack and walked out of the classroom.
Just stepping out of the school building, he saw a familiar figure standing at the bottom of the steps, one hand in his pocket, tall and leggy, with the usual expressionless face on his handsome face.
That face is too flashy, as the face of A University, not only hanging on the school forum and public number all year round, but also on behalf of A University to fight in various famous school handsome rankings, almost no one knows.
Therefore when he appeared in front of the architecture department's teaching building, but all the students passing by had to look at him, and the murmur of discussion around him did not stop.
However, Gu Zhao's dark and cold eyes only loosened up a bit the moment he saw Ji Su.
He took a pair of long legs and headed for the steps, never taking his eyes off that face.
Ji Su also walked towards him, "You're early."
"No classes this afternoon." Gu Zhao stood at the next step and naturally reached for his book bag, "Give me the bag."
Ji Su shook his head, "No, it's not heavy."
Gu Zhao didn't insist, "Let's go."
Ji Su turns back, "Wait ......"
"Susu, I'm coming!" Just then, Qiao Jin, who had finished using the restroom, rushed up with an arrow, "Where are we going to eat?"
Gu Zhao frowned slightly, "You're going too?"
Qiao Jin scrunched his neck, "Wasn't Susu the guest of honor ......"
Zhao Gu was about to open his mouth when another bright male voice came from behind him, "Xiao Qiao I'm coming!"
Zhou Yang's footsteps lurched, "Hey? Why are you here too, Gu?"
Gu Zhao turned back around and said coldly, "What do you think?"
"Zhou Yang, didn't Xiao Qiao tell you?" Ji Su patiently explained, "It was me who wanted to invite Gu Zhao for dinner and asked him to call you."
"Ohhhh, I know!" Zhou Yang nodded, "Let's go then!"
Gu Zhao, his face cold, said nothing and walked down the road with his long legs.
"Wait, let's call Wang Mingzhe." Ji Su thought for a moment, "It doesn't seem right to leave him alone for dinner."
"Okay, I'll call Old Wang." Zhou Yang pulled out her cell phone from her pocket and sighed as she made the call, "Ji Su, you really are a little angel, thinking of everything."
Gu Zhao gave him a look, his eyes like an icy knife.
Eventually, the tandem turned back into a quintet.
Gu Zhao's hand-picked private dining room is a Chinese-style garden hidden in the middle of downtown, with a tranquil setting and a sense of style.
"I'm going to ......" Wang Mingzhe gestured exaggeratedly, "Brother Gu, how come you haven't brought us to such a nice place before?"
Gu Zhao's thin lips opened and closed, "Are you worthy?"
"WHAT? How can a thirty-seven degree mouth spit out such cold words?" Wang Mingzhe covered his chest with a hurt face, then his tone changed, "Well, I really don't deserve it."
"Hahaha!" Qiao Jin laughed so hard that he almost stumbled, but fortunately Zhou Yang was quick to hold him up.
Led by the welcome staff at the door, the group walked into the elegant room that Gu Zhao had booked in advance.
Gu Zhao pulled back his chair, "Ji Su."
Ji Su, who had been prepared to sit close to the door, sniffed and dutifully walked over.
When he was seated, Gu Zhao also pulled out his chair and took the seat next to him.
After a few people ordered, the waiter took the menu and exited the elegant room.
This kind of private restaurant is ready-made dishes, have to wait for a while, Zhou Yang proposed to play mahjong for a while.
Four people occupy one side of the room, while Ji Su, who doesn't know how to play mahjong, sits on the sidelines and watches the battle.
While playing, Wang Mingzhe started to talk again, "Oh yeah, let me tell you, I met the goddess of my dreams today!"
"What goddess of your dreams?" Zhou Yang scoffs at him, "Your goddesses, aren't they the teachers who are far away in foreign lands?"
"No, this time it's true!" Wang Mingzhe anxiously slapped the table, "The English Department's department flower, don't you all recognize it?"
"I seem to recognize it." Ji Su picked up, "Is the goddess you're talking about Shen Jintang?"
Gu Zhao looked up, narrowing his dark eyes slightly.
"Yes, yes, yes! It's Shen Jintang!" Wang Mingzhe slapped the table loudly, "Ji Su You've finally proved to me that I'm not talking nonsense!"
"Is there really such a person?" Zhou Yang was surprised, "Ji Su, how do you know him?"
Ji Su replied back, "She's also a member of our music club."
"I see!" Wang Mingzhe suddenly realized, and added, "That's good, Ji Su, you can introduce me to my goddess!"
Ji Su hesitated, "But ...... I don't really know her well."
Although Wang Mingzhe is not a bad guy, it's presumptuous of him to take the liberty of introducing a girl to him, not to mention the fact that she has no shortage of suitors.
Wang Mingzhe wanted to say something else, but was ruthlessly interrupted by Gu Zhao: "If you have the ability, go after it yourself."
"Oops Gu I-" Wang Mingzhe met that warning look and made a gesture of manually sealing his mouth, "Okay, I'll shut up."
Not a moment later, he couldn't help but find the topic again, "Speaking of goddesses, let's all tell us what our ideal type is like!"
Qiao Jin glanced at Zhou Yang across the table and blurted out, "I like people with sunny and cheerful personalities, and I also like dark skin."
Wang Mingzhe laughed, "So Qiao Jin, you like hot black girls!"
"Yeah." Qiao Jin responded perfunctorily, "What about you, Zhou Yang?"
Zhou Yang thought hard for a moment and returned, "Actually, I haven't imagined it specifically, but I would probably like someone with a softer personality."
Qiao Jin blurted out, "So do I look gentle to you?"
Zhou Yang froze and laughed, "Of course you're gentle."
Wang Mingzhe started to coax, "Yo yo yo! What are you two doing? Why are you being so affectionate?"
Qiao Jin was secretly delighted, and in order to hide his joy, he boldly threw the topic to Gu Zhao: "Gu, what's your ideal type?"
He had only asked casually, not expecting the other party to answer at all.
Gu Zhao plays a card and absently returns, "I like people with long, good-looking legs."
"Crap!" Wang Mingzhe was shocked, "Brother Gu, you're actually a leg controller?"
Ji Su and Qiao Jin looked at each other and saw a look of realization in each other's eyes.
Gu Zhao continues the list slowly and methodically, "Thin waist, white skin."
As Ji Su listened, he suddenly felt as if something wasn't quite right.
"Let me summarize, Brother Gu, you just like beautiful women with thin waists, long legs, white skin, and good looks!" Wang Mingzhe smacked his lips, "Brother Gu, it turns out that you and I like similar types!"
"Hands should also be good looking, can play the piano for me." Gu Zhao lifted his eyes and his inscrutable gaze fell on Ji Su's face, "Care for me, like to cling to me and call me brother, and only pamper me."
Ji Su silently turned his face sideways and pretended he didn't understand.
Finished, listening to Gu Zhao's description, he seems to have some lingering feelings for himself - no, for Mengmeng ......
"Brother Gu, you like the sticky type!" Wang Mingzhe saw a business opportunity, "I'm going to sell this information for a hundred dollars a piece!"
Gu Zhao withdrew his eyes, "You try?"
Qiao Jin: "Try and die?"
"Dare not dare not dare!" Wang Mingzhe hurriedly begged for mercy, "Just kidding just kidding ......"
Qiao Jin and Zhou Yang laughed together, and when they were done, Zhou Yang turned his attention to Ji Su: "Ji Su, what about you?"
Ji Su, who tries to minimize his presence indefinitely : "......"
Wang Mingzhe curiously said, "Yeah Ji Su, what kind of girls do you like?"
Facing the oppressive line of sight from across the room, Ji Su made up something hard, "I might like a stronger character ......"
Summary Master Wang Mingzhe : "I get it, you like bossy imperial ladies!"
Ji Su: "......"
Why did he feel like staring at himself a little deeper?
"You guys play, I'm going to the bathroom." Ji Su got up and headed for the door with a calm expression.
Exiting the elegant room, he was guided by the waiter to the bathroom.
The bathrooms here are also beautifully decorated and the air is perfumed with no unpleasant odors at all.
Ji Su walked over to the sink, reached for a handful of cool water, and splashed it on her face.
He is now a bit confused whether Gu Zhao just likes Mengmeng's type of girl, or he hasn't forgotten his own Mengmeng in disguise.
If it's the latter, every time he appears in front of Gu Zhao, it's an invisible injury.
Ji Su sighed softly and lifted her face, caught off guard and slammed into a pair of dark, sunken eyes.
Gu Zhao came in at some point and stood right behind him.
The two stared at each other through the mirror for a few seconds before Ji Su turned around, "Why are you here too?"
As soon as the words left his mouth, he knew he had asked a nonsense question.
Gu Zhao steps away from him.
Ji Su braced her hands back against the sink, inexplicably nervous, "What, what's wrong?"
He had just washed his face, and his forehead hair was slightly damp, and the water beads saved between his picturesque eyebrows, which looked beautiful in a wet sort of way.
Gu Zhao stops in front of him, lifts a hand, and wipes a drop of water from under his eye with his fingertips.
The skin on his face was so delicate that just a light rub left a light red mark.
After all this time together, Ji Su had gotten used to the occasional touch, and her body didn't react too much.
The next moment, Gu Zhao grabbed him by the waist and sat him down on the sink.
Ji Su was startled: "Gu Zhao, what did you--"
The coda ended abruptly.
Long, firm, powerful legs in suit pants toppled over his knees and jammed between long, straight legs, big, burning hands pressing into the legs, wide enough to wrap almost completely around his thighs.
Through a thin layer of fabric, Ji Su was shivering from the heat of the other party's hand, and subconsciously wanted to struggle, but was firmly held down by the large hand, unable to move in the slightest.
At the same time, the other hand gripped the back of his neck, forcing him to tilt his face up.
An indescribable smile appeared on that impeccably handsome face, "Like bossy royals?"
