Mosaic: You begged me!

The Black Tower's cue ends, and a blue light flickers up across the spacious courtyard.

This burst of blue light was getting brighter and brighter, more and more blinding. There were a total of twenty blue light membranes, and nothing was placed inside them. When Tang Mo opened her eyes again, she only saw twenty blue light membranes floating with differently painted objects. There were a few colorful stones of unknown use, some mallets, long nails with blood stains on them, and a small red dress.

The mechanical childish voice of the Black Tower rang out--

"Dingdong! Game 1, number of advances a player can make: 7."

Tang Mo scrutinizes the twenty items, stopping at the second row.

There are two books!

It was a 5 x 5 checkerboard, and Tang Mo and the young man stood in the rightmost row. From their point of view, the board was divided into five rows and five columns, and on the second row near Bai Ruoyao and the young man, two books were placed in two squares.

Because the mosaic of treasures had both large and small, as the items appeared, the blue light film also became both large and small. There were twenty items in total, and only the third column of the second row and the fifth column of the second row had books in their light films.

Tang Mo heard a brief whimper and turned his head to look at his companion. The younger man had obviously seen the books, too, and was surprised for a moment, then remained calm. He looks cautiously at Tang Mo, and realizes that Tang Mo is also staring at him. The young man's face changes, his eyes darting between Tang Mo and Bai Ruoyao, his eyes skeptical.

All four players saw the book, sitting in the center of the period of hope in the grid mosaic depressed on the table. Seeing that the four players were all very alert and no one made a move first, Mosaic said in a bad mood, "I've never seen you humans so boring. Boring, boring, boring! Hurry up and end this boring copy, I'm going to start a fire, I'm going to play!"

Mosaic said so, and none of the players took her up on it.

Everyone was scrutinizing each item on this board and the pattern of brightness and darkness of the item's outer light film.

Three minutes had passed, and Tang Mo was still calculating in his head how to take the seven steps. The two books were obviously close to Bai Ruoyao's side, so if they wanted to go over there, they would definitely have to waste at least three steps to walk to the grid with the books. Suddenly, a rumbling sound rang out, Tang Mo immediately gripped the small Yang San tightly, but saw a blue film of light slowly appear in front of him and the young man.

On Bai Ruoyao's side, a film of blue light appeared between them and Tang Mo.

The young man was shocked: "This is the ninth rule of the game ...... teammates can discuss countermeasures in private?" The young man did not react for a moment, he seems to be the first time to see the black tower so simple and rough "isolation" method.

Tang Mo has early experience with a similar rule in Pinocchio's Honest Card Game: "Now when we talk, they should be deaf. Likewise, they talk and we can't hear them."

The young man sniffed and looked cautiously at Tang Mo.

Tang Mo and the young man each stood in the corner of the grid, with three squares between them.

There were only five minutes of free discussion in total, the young man hesitated for a moment and decided not to waste time, "My name is Liu Wansheng, you should have heard my name when I entered the copy. Now I just want to confirm one thing with you first ......" Liu Wansheng looked serious, he directly pointed to Bai Ruoyao at the other end of the grid, "Are you and that person teammates?"

Tang Mo: "No."

Liu Wansheng was a bit unconvinced: "You came in together, and from your conversation, you seem to know each other?"

Those who could enter this copy were inevitably players who had cleared at least one level of the Black Tower. Faced with the current Black Tower game that was still not completely clear, and the countermeasures of the game that needed to be solved, the first thing that came to this man's mind was not to blindly solve the game, but to first confirm the identities of his teammates.

In Tang Mo's place, he would have asked the other man that question first. He asked rhetorically, "So are you and that woman teammates?"

Liu Wansheng immediately denied, "Of course not. I accidentally entered this copy last week, and the next day this woman and her teammates came in, there were four of them in total, and they just came in because they picked up the little girl's matches, and were surrounded by werewolves and little girls who beat three of them to death. She and I didn't know each other at all, we were simply trapped in this copy for days together."

Judging from Liu Wansheng's expression and tone, Tang Mo didn't think he was lying. He turned his eyes to the young woman on the other side of the grid. He saw that the latter's face was pale and she kept opening her mouth to say something, looking very anxious. Liu Wansheng also followed Tang Mo's gaze, and when he saw Bai Ruoyao, he was slightly stunned.

The baby-faced young man in the white jacket stands nicely in his own grid, smiling at Tang Mo. His female teammates keep talking to him, but he never responds. Instead, Bai Ruoyao blinked and opened his mouth when Tang Mo and Liu Wansheng looked at him.

Liu Wansheng's scalp tingled: "He said you were teammates with him!"

Tang Mo: "......"

Not bad, just now Bai Ruoyao intentionally opened his mouth wide and uttered the words: we are teammates oh.

Obviously unable to hear Tang Mo's side of the conversation, Bai Ruoyao suddenly made such an empty remark, causing Liu Wansheng to almost explode, doubting his own teammates. However, he soon calmed down and realized that this psychotic doll face was probably lying to himself. If Bai Ruoyao and Tang Mo were really teammates, Bai Ruoyao shouldn't have picked the young woman when he chose his teammates in the first place, he should have picked Tang Mo (of course, it can't be ruled out that he purposely put his teammates on the enemy side so that they could work together inside and outside). In any case, he favors the idea that these two strange players really aren't teammates, and may have some kind of special relationship.

Liu Wansheng : "Okay, I'm sure you and that guy weren't teammates, now we two are. To be honest, this game is a bit similar to Flip Chess, but different. I've played a little bit of Flip Chess, and in this kind of game, it doesn't matter how you play in the middle of the game, the most important thing is the ending. It says in the rules of the game that all we have to do is give the items in the light film to Mosaic."

The man spoke with reason, and although his forehead was covered in sweat, his emotions were calmer.

What the other guy was going to say was what Tang Mo was thinking, and he went along with it, "At the end of the game, whichever grid we're standing in, as long as the grid's film of light is on, and the film of light that wraps around the mosaic is on, the contents of the grid can be given to the mosaic. Now, there are two books in total."

Liu Wansheng nods, "It takes five steps to walk to the nearest book in my position. You're in a better position, and it only takes you three steps to get to the grid with a book. Each of us can take seven steps in this round of the game, and I think it's better for you to be the one to walk to the grid with the book. Then there's the issue of switching the light film on and off ...... I'll take care of that one. I'll be around to help see what's going on and make sure that the grid of the mosaic is lit and that the grid you're on is lit as well. Of course I can't fully guarantee that, so we'll just see what happens for the first round of the game."

Tang Mo raised an eyebrow, not vetoing the other's decision.

This Liu Wansheng is definitely on the level of all the players Tang Mo has seen. Indeed, Tang Mo is closer to the grids with books, so it makes more sense for him to grab the grids with books. But ensuring the brightness of the light film is not an easy task. Liu Wansheng groped his chin, staring at all the grids on the field without blinking, memorizing their current light-dark relationship, and mouthing words as if he was calculating something.

Tang Mo couldn't hear what he was saying, but by looking at his expression, he could probably guess that he was calculating how the opposite side would move to the checker, how the checker would be darkened and lightened after his move, and how the situation would change. How would he control the situation so that Tang Mo's last step would be to enter the lighted grid containing the book, and the mosaic grid would also be lighted.

This game is actually particularly simple, that is, the player back and forth to advance the number of grids, each into a grid, this grid of vertical columns, horizontal rows, all the grids all change color. The originally bright light film becomes dark, the originally dark light film becomes bright.

Yet the simpler the game, the more complicated it is to play.

It couldn't be simpler to let only one person play this kind of game. Because one person can control where they go. Once there was a second person, the possibilities of changes in the grid skyrocketed geometrically. Tang Mo watched Liu Wansheng sweating profusely from his calculations and looking serious, he thought for a moment and did not open his mouth to interrupt his opponent's reasoning.

As long as Bai Ruoyao's team doesn't act casually and both sides work together, it's easy to hand the book over to Mosaic.

Yet both Tang Mo and Bai Ruoyao know that this is simply not possible. If the game could be solved by players working together, there is no way that so many people would have died before, and there would be no way that the game would have intentionally divided the players into two camps. There must be a reason for the existence of the two camps.

The five minutes of free discussion time ended and the blue film of light faded away.

At one end of the grid, Bai Ruoyao didn't know what he said to the young woman, who closed her mouth and stopped talking, angry and furious, her eyes red. At this end of the grid, Liu Wansheng was rubbing his fists, he also knew that the possibility of ending the game in the first round was really low, and that this time the game was for both sides to test the water, and there would not be any specific punishment.

The Black Tower beep sounded, "First game, officially begins! Players are requested to advance the number of frames in order of priority."

As the words fell, a large blue number appeared on the heads of the four players present. Bai Ruoyao's head was "1", Liu Wansheng's head was "2", the young woman Lin Qian's head was "3", and Tang Mo's head was "4". Mo's head is "4".

"Will player #1 please choose a direction of travel."

Bai Ruoyao, with a big number "1" on his head, smiled and took a step forward. He took this step and just happened to be standing on the grid with the books. When he stepped into this grid, the light film that was originally lit up in this grid immediately turned off, and all the light films in the vertical and horizontal rows changed color.

This is just the beginning. Seeing this change, Tang Mo and Liu Wansheng looked unchanged and did not feel any pressure. Next, it was Liu Wansheng's turn to move forward. He moved one square forward and again changed the color of all the light films on the vertical and horizontal rows.

The young woman bit her lip in silence and stepped forward a frame as well.

Finally, it's Tang Mo's turn.

On the large grid network, all three players took up their positions and craned their heads in unison to look at Tang Mo.

Tang Mo had a small pink Yang San hanging from his waist, and his gaze was calmly looking directly in front of him, to his left, the only two directions he could choose to go in for his first step. No matter where he chose, it didn't seem to be a big problem, as this game had just begun.

Tang Mo's gaze swept over the three players one by one, and then looked at the two books encased in a film of light. Finally, his eyes were directed at the little girl sitting in the center of the grid, and he suddenly opened his mouth, his voice calm, "If I stand in the same grid as him when I take the last step, will the things in the grid be counted as his or mine?" He was referring to Bai Ruoyao.

Bai Ruoyao was first stunned, and then laughed.

It was rare for someone to talk to him, and Mosaic came to his senses, "Of course it's on him. First come, first served, you bad human, you don't even understand that, despise you."

The others didn't know what Mosaic's contempt meant, and Tang Mo, the only one who did, ignored her. He gave a soft "oh", still not advancing the number of frames, and asked a second question, "Give you the book and the game is over?"

Mosaic blushed, "I don't want a book! I don't I don't! I'm going to play!"

Tang Mo : "So if that happens. For example, in our current round, there are two books in the game. At the end of the game, let's say both of our teams successfully hand the books to you ...... like this, who wins? What is the benefit of winning and what will be the penalty for losing?"

Dumbfounded, the young woman said, "No, can it still be like that? Can you just ask for such rules?"

Liu Wansheng did not expect Tang Mo to ask such a question so bluntly, and he looked at Tang Mo with more than a hint of scrutiny in his eyes.

Tang Mo waits calmly for Mosaic's answer.

However this little girl listened to Tang Mo's question and looked at him with odd eyes. After a while, Mosaic crossed his arms and laughed out loud, "Yeah, you can ask, you ask, I can answer all of them, I know all of these answers. But ...... why should I tell you! You this big bad man, before you do not let me talk, refused to accompany me to act, refused to play with me, just know to open the game. Now that the game is on, you have your wish, and you want to ask me how to pass the game? Beg me ah, you come to beg me ......"

"Well, I'm begging you."

Mosaic: "......"

Liu Wansheng: "......"

Lin Qian: "......"

Even Bai Ruoyao didn't expect Tang Mo to say the words of begging so simply, he froze for a split second, then said in dissatisfaction, "Hey hey Tangtang, I asked you to beg me before, you didn't beg me even if it's not enough, but you also want to hit me. There's no such difference in treatment!"

Tang Mo did not pay attention to Bai Ruoyao, he looked at the dumbfounded little girl very sincerely: "I beg you, tell me how to pass the level, if two teams pass the level together, who wins, what rewards for the winning team, what punishment for the losing team. And ...... "After a pause, Tang Mo's eyes were firm: "Does this game ...... prohibit violence?"
