Chapter 94: Mermaid Monster

9:00 p.m., Communications Room.

When Jiang Luo arrived, Daniel was the only person in the communication room. The young man was fiddling with the equipment in front of him absentmindedly, and when he heard the footsteps, he immediately turned his head and said in surprise, "Sir, you're here."

Jiang Luo, who had changed his clothes, took off his jacket and put it on his arm, walked to Daniel and sat down. He casually rested his head, his black hair slid down on the table like water, and there seemed to be a silver light hidden in the bottom of his eyes, his smile was full of joy, "Good evening."

Daniel blushed slightly, "Good evening."

Daniel was very uncomfortable in front of Jiang Luo, so Jiang Luo asked Daniel to introduce him to the equipment in the communication room. Daniel talked very carefully, but his eyes kept glancing at Jiang Luo. Jiang Luo did not care, and tried to contact the police vessel's signal without any trace, but he saw Daniel wiping his mouth at him.

Jiang Luo knows he's good looking, but not to the extent that he's drool worthy.

He turned his head as if nothing had happened, "Daniel, how long do you need to be on duty?"

Daniel, cup in hand, took a swig of water as he watched, "I'm on duty until twelve, sir, are you sleepy?"

Jiang Luo always feel his eyes seemingly in his arm and neck, he tried to raise his hand, smooth lines of the small arm skin tight, in the light of the light flooded with cold jade-like light.

Daniel gulped again, staring directly at Jiang Luo's arm.

A very hungry look.

The moment Jiang Luo arrived in the communications room, Daniel had almost finished a large glass of water, he glanced at the glass in Daniel's hand, "Are you thirsty?"

Daniel smiled apologetically, "Yes."

Jiang Luo put his jacket on without moving, giving up on the radio for now, "It's getting late, and I do feel a little sleepy. Daniel, I'll leave now, see you tomorrow."

Daniel, showing a look of reluctance, detained, "Stay a little longer, sir."

Without waiting for Jiang Luo to answer, he got up and said evasively, "I go to get a glass of water ...... Mr. Please wait until I come back okay?"

It was like having food handed to you when you were hungry, and Jiang Luo didn't think it was possible, so he raised an eyebrow and agreed with a smile. Daniel hurried past him, and when the comm room was empty, Jiang Luo started the radio, but the connection was always busy. What's going on? Jiang Luo leaned forward and lifted up the communication equipment to see that the plug wires at the back had long been unplugged.

Jiang Luo's face darkened and he left the communication room quickly with a sullen face.

The communications room was flanked by a row of slipped workrooms and a dormitory for the duty officer.

Jiang Luo passes by the duty officer's dormitory, only to find that the door is not closed, but has a gap exposed.

Inside the gap was dark, a familiar fishy smell came from inside, and immediately attracted Jiang Luo's attention. He looked into the dormitory, snoring burst out, Jiang Luo frowned, quietly into the dormitory.

There was only one person in the dormitory who was lying asleep on the top bunk.

After a few seconds, his eyes adjusted to the darkness and was able to make out the layout of the room. Inside the dormitory, two bunk beds were placed against the left wall. On the right wall were two desks, and in the faint moonlight, one could make out a desk lamp and a diary on the desk.

The sleeping man was on the top bunk by the door, the covers wrapped around him from head to toe, and only the sound of snoring loudly surrounded the room.

Jiang Luo gently walked to the table and opened the diary.

On the first page of the journal, the words "Voyage Diary" are written.

Jiang Luo scrolled down, the first few entries are normal work records, Jiang Luo quickly scanned through. But as soon as the pages of the diary were turned over, Jiang Luo looked puzzled. He looked at the top for a few seconds, frowning, and quickly looked through the rest of the papers, only to find the same words on each one.

"So Hungry, So Hungry, So Hungry ......"

What's that supposed to mean?

Why is it that the first half of the diary is normal, and the second half is just the word "hungry"?

Jiang Luo shall not be allowed, but suddenly, he suddenly stopped his hand.

For he suddenly sensed a point of wrongness.

The snoring stopped at some point.

Jiang Luo held his breath and turned his head, and saw that on the top bunk by the door, the person who had just been sleeping sat up at some point. His body was covered with a white quilt, and his face was not exposed, but his body was turned around, facing Jiang Luo's direction.

Jiang Luo's heart beat a beat faster as he cautiously prepared to head for the door, but there was another footstep coming from outside the door.

Inside and outside the attack, Jiang Luo in his heart cursed a bad luck, and immediately observed what can hide people in the house, and finally crouched down to the ground and rolled, hiding in the bunk bed underneath.

He had just ducked when he saw a pair of feet coming through the doorway.

The crew's uniforms and shoes are all the same, but Jiang Luo recognizes them as Daniel's shoes. But Jiang Luo recognizes them as Daniel's shoes, because there are a few drops of motor oil on them, which Daniel got when he was explaining the equipment to him in the communications room.

Daniel's voice rang out, "Sonja, did you see anyone leave through the door."

A voice came from the bed above Jiang Luo, "I think so, I was asleep but I smelled a fresh odor."

This one had a strange voice, as if it had mucus in its throat and was spitting out words.

Daniel's feet went from the door to the table and he rustled as if he was undressing, "You get up, it's almost time for you to work."

Sonya said, "I know."

The bed on top of Jiang Luo shook violently, so the person in the upper bunk was getting out of bed. According to the frequency of the bed shaking, it is enough to see that this person is strong.

Daniel walked over to the bunk and sat down, still undressing, and Jiang Luo breathed flat, trying not to make a sound.

But Daniel's movements suddenly stopped, as if sniffing the air, and wondered, "It smells like someone's in the dormitory."

Sonya said, "I smelled it too, and I thought I smelled it wrong."

Jiang Luo's eyelids jumped.

In just a few lines of conversation, he could be sure that both of them were not human. But the current situation did not allow Jiang Luo to think too much, Jiang Luo clenched his fists and tensed his whole body, ready to deal with the unexpected situation at any time.

His eyes were fixed on the outside of the bed, and the next moment he met a pair of whitened fish eyes.

A misshapen human-like and fish-like head bent over the bottom of the bed, slime dripping from its head, just staring in Jiang Luo's direction.

Jiang Luo: "......"

His whole body froze and he reflexively tried to roll out from under the bed. But in the next instant, he realized that these fish eyes seemed to see nothing.

The monster sniffed and muttered, "It smells the worst under the bed."

It was Daniel's voice, but at that moment his voice also became strange. It was also as if he had mucus in his throat, and when his vocal cords trembled, it drove the muscles of his throat, and the mucus dripped faster.

It reached under the bed, its hands still human-like, and Jiang Luo dug deeper under the bed to avoid his fingers. Daniel touches nothing, a confused look on its ghastly fish face, and the other monster says, disgruntled, "I'll do it."

As they speak, Jiang Luo has crawled under another bed.

Instead of continuing to hide under the bed, he crawled out as quietly as possible without making a sound and stood up.

The moonlight illuminated the two monsters sprawled on the edge of the bed.

One was a black fish with four limbs. Smooth all over, with eyes protruding on either side of its head, it looked like a hybrid of a human and a fish, with slime dripping from its body, extremely lurid and disgusting.

Daniel's appearance is also horrifying, with his head taking on the appearance of a fish, while the rest of him remains normal human except for his head.

The fishy smell of fish came from them, and Jiang Luo resisted the urge to retch and reached out to hold the bed. But instead, a handful of liquid clung to the sheets.

He looked sideways, and it turned out that each bed was covered in quite a bit of this slime.

This house is inhabited by crew members who are not human.

"Daniel, there doesn't seem to be anything under the bed."

At that moment, one of the monsters said, "Is it true that you brought back the human smell when you came back?"

"I haven't eaten anyone yet," Daniel pounded the ground, seething, "When I went back, the people were gone."

"Bear with us," said Sanja, "our work is tiring and unappealing, and it is not yet our turn to eat meat. When the little fish hatch and finish giving the females to the rich, those fish-keeping vessels will be useless, and we will be able to eat them all. I hope we succeed in hatching more fish this year, our eggs are too hard to survive and still only like to grow in people's stomachs."

"Not even one blood eel can hatch out of a hundred fry that can survive, and only one female out of a hundred blood eels. The civilians still don't have enough nutrients for their bodies, and I heard them say that many of the vessels had already died before the fry could hatch, what useless humans."

Jiang Luo listened in silence, the information contained in just a few words almost making his brain hurt, and he breathed softly, trying his best to minimize his presence.

A gust of wind blew outside the window.

The two monsters suddenly raised their heads and sniffed in Jiang Luo's direction, "That's strange, the smell is coming from there again."

"Yeah," Daniel's mouth drooled as he wiped his mouth and gulped hungrily, "it's the human flavor."

Jiang Luo felt bad, the next moment, the two monsters were close to him. Jiang Luo quickly took off the zipper on his jacket and threw it to another corner, and the moment the zipper hit the ground, the two mermaid monsters quickly pounced towards the corner.

There was nothing there, and it didn't stop them from biting ferociously. Jiang Luo took the opportunity to run past them, pull open the door and run out.

The monster turned his head in the direction of the door, salivation slipping from his mouth, "The human escaped."

They rushed out the door following the smell.

Jiang Luo ran to the deck with a burst of energy. It was now late at night, and there were no lights or people on the deck. The bleak moonlight hit the seawater, sparkling.

The humanoid monsters behind him were fast and had a keen sense of smell. They chased after Jiang Luo, and sweat broke out on Jiang Luo's forehead. As he ran past a corner, a small hand suddenly reached out from the shadows and tugged on Jiang Luo's clothes.

Jiang Luo looked down and saw that it was the captain's daughter, Lisa, who took his hand and ran in the other direction, Jiang Luo thought about it and followed her.

Lisa soon led him to a closed door, which Jiang Luo and Lisa opened together and entered.

The moment he walked through the door, Jiang Luo felt he had stepped on a sticky liquid.

He blushed and Lisa tugged at him and whispered, "Brother, don't talk. Just lay down and roll around on the ground, and after you get covered in slime, they won't be able to smell you."

Jiang Luo did as he was told, and then stood by the door with Lisa in his arms, looking out through the cat's eye vigilantly.

Lisa lay obediently on his shoulder and didn't say a word.

Outside the door, the skinless mermaid monster dragged its way through the door, covered in slime. It kept sniffing the air in front of the door, and after standing in front of it for a few seconds, it still hesitantly left.

Jiang Luo was mentally relieved as he took a seat by the door, gathered Lisa to his side and asked in a low voice, "Lisa, where is this place? How do you know that you can hide from the monsters by getting slime all over your body?"

Lisa pulled her finger and was silent for a moment before she said, "Brother, this is my father's room."

She tilted her head to look at Jiang Luo and said fearfully, "He's turned into a scary-looking guy for some reason, and sometimes he drools on me. It's only when I hide here that he looks like he can't see me."
