Jealous Prey
In early July, it's graduation season again.
Ji Su interned at a well-known architectural firm in China during her senior year of college and stayed on after graduation to become an architect.
Gu Zhao also stayed at a law firm run by his seniors in the same department and became not only a criminal defense attorney, but also a partner of the firm.
Soon after he started his career, Gu Zhao won a tough lawsuit and became famous.
However, Gu Lv's character is cold and poisonous, and he acts in his own way, accepting cases depending on his mood and being more active than anyone else after work.
Only a handful of people in the know realized that Gu Da's lawyers were in a hurry to get off work mainly to pick up their clients.
Since the villa on the beach is far away from Ji Su's company and the project he is in charge of is in the city, the two of them live in the suite at the Royal Water Bay during the weekdays, and go home on weekends when they have time.
So whenever Gu Zhao got off work early, he drove to pick him up from work.
That night, it was already after eight o'clock when Ji Su finished his overtime work, and he sent a message while walking out of the building.
Before a message could be edited, a young, bright male voice came from behind him, "Mr. Ji!"
Ji Su, with a beat in his step, turned around and asked, "Zheng, what's the matter?"
The boy who ran toward him was Zheng Yian, a nephew of one of the company's major shareholders who had just finished his senior high school exams and had come to work for the company during the summer to earn pocket money.
They say it's a summer job, but who dares to treat the young master as an intern, and the leader assigns him to Ji Su , who, after all, has little seniority in the company.
I didn't want to see this young master, Mr. Zheng, follow Mr. Ji every day, not only serving tea and water and typing information, but also taking care of the afternoon tea for the project team.
Zheng Yian stopped walking and said with concern, "Mr. Ji, you haven't had dinner yet, have you?"
"Haven't eaten yet." Ji Su turned back around and continued walking forward, "I'll eat at home later."
"It's late waiting for you to get home, why don't we eat something together before we go back." Zheng Yian positively suggested, "I know a Hong Kong style teahouse nearby, it's quite authentic, do you like it?"
Ji Su declined politely, "I have some business to take care of when I get home."
As they spoke, the two had walked outside the building.
"Then, Mr. Ji, where does your family live?" Zheng Yian asked again, "It's so late, let me send you home."
"My family doesn't live far." Ji Su sends the message, "I'll just take a cab back."
There are several cars parked in the family garage, and Gu's second sister gave him a new car for his birthday this year, but he's been busy since he started working, and he doesn't need to drive much, so the matter of getting a driver's license has been put on hold.
Tonight Gu Zhao was working overtime too, otherwise he would have been waiting for him at the door by now.
"Mr. Ji, don't be polite to me." Zheng Yian invited again, "I'm a good driver, don't worry!"
"There's really no need, Zheng." Ji Su taps into the taxi app and heads to the curb, "It's getting late, you should go home early and rest too."
Zheng Yian was a bit anxious and reached out to try and pull his arm, "Wait Mr. Ji--"
Almost immediately, a large hand appeared out of thin air and knocked his hand off with a loud snap.
Zheng Yian froze, twisting his head to meet a pair of dark, cold eyes.
Gu Zhao just rushed over from the law firm, a suit has not yet taken off, the bridge of the nose on a pair of gold-framed glasses, the lenses can not block the cold color of the eyes.
"Gu Zhao?" Ji Su saw him and sounded surprised and happy, "Didn't you say you were working overtime, why did you come over again?"
Gu Zhao raised his hand and gathered him into his arms, his voice low, "No introductions?"
Ji Su struggled a bit uncomfortably and briefly introduced, "This is our company's intern, Zheng Yian."
Unwilling to have his private life pried into, he has not yet made his sexuality public, so usually Gu Zhao picks him up and waits downstairs for him to come out.
The two don't usually act too intimately in public, either.
Gu Zhao's hand on his shoulder tightened, then loosened and released him.
Zheng Yian came back to his senses and enthusiastically extended his hand, "Hello, my name is Zheng Yian, I'm an intern under Mr. Ji."
Gu Zhao's eyes drooped slightly, "Mr. Ji?"
Ji Su felt that the atmosphere wasn't quite right and didn't want to chat any longer, "Xiao Zheng, we'll leave first, you go home too."
"Okay." Zheng Yian turned around and waved back at him, "See you tomorrow, Mr. Ji!"
Ji Su smiled and reached out to tug on the coat of the person beside him, "Let's go."
Gu Zhao steps away from the car and walks over to the car and opens the door for him to get in.
Ji Su looked down as she fastened her seatbelt and casually asked, "Why didn't you tell me in advance that you were coming over to pick me up?"
Gu Zhao looks at him, "What, you want that intern to take you home?"
Ji Su blinked her eyelashes, "I didn't mean for him to deliver it."
Gu Zhao leaned over and pinched the pointed jaw with his big hand, and his hot lips fell down without refusal.
When he came up, he kissed them hard and deep, like he was trying to kiss someone to death alive in the car.
Ji Su didn't pull back a bit until she was nearly choking, probing the tip of her tongue with intent to lick away the bright traces of water from her lips.
Ji Su softened in the leather seat, taking small gasping breaths.
Gu Zhao pressed against him and asked, "Mr. Ji, do you want to eat at home or outside?"
Ji Su reacted with hindsight, "Gu Zhao Are you ...... you jealous?"
Gu Zhao bit him and admitted graciously, "Yes, jealous."
"What kind of jealousy are you having again?" Ji Su cried, "Just a kid who left after summer vacation."
"Heh ......" Gu Zhao said, "He'd better."
Although not happy, but after all, nothing happened, Gu Zhao also did not hold on to it.
However, the matter is not quite over.
A month or so later, Zheng Yian's internship was coming to an end, and with a flourish, he opened a luxurious private room at the club.
Ji Su specially reported to Gu Zhao in advance that the whole project team was having a dinner together.
It was just after nine o'clock in the evening when Ji Su, seeing that it was almost time, got up and said goodbye.
Zheng Yian was drinking with other colleagues and immediately put down his glass when he heard this, "Mr. Ji, are you leaving?"
"Sorry, I have a few things to do at home." Ji Su smiled slightly, "You guys keep playing."
Zheng Yian watched that lean and upright back leave his sight, his expression gradually becoming firm, as if he had made up his mind of some sort.
He put down his glass and took a big step after him.
The corridor was quiet, and Ji Su stepped on the heavy carpet, when suddenly he was called again, "Mr. Ji!"
He turned back around and watched the boys run towards him.
Zheng Yian had drunk a lot of wine tonight, his face was red, but his eyes were bright, "Mr. Ji, I have something I want to say to you."
Ji Su asked warmly, "What is it?"
"Actually, I wasn't going to say anything, but today is my last day at the company, and I'm afraid-" Zheng Yian mustered up enough courage to look him straight in the eye, "I'm afraid that if I don't say anything today, I'll always regret it. "
Ji Su looked at the other man's expression and vaguely guessed what he was going to say.
After all, one has received too many confessions over the years.
Ji Su pursed her lips, her tone polite and detached, "Zheng Shao, your internship is over, we shouldn't see each other again."
The implication is that there are some things that don't need to be said.
"If you want to see me again, I can always come over to see you." Zheng Yian took a step forward, the adoration in his eyes could no longer be concealed, "Ji Su, I like you, I've liked you since the first time we met."
Ji Su took a step back and pulled away from the two of them, "I'm sorry, I'm not in a position to reciprocate your feelings."
"Why? Why can't you respond to me?" Zheng Yian took another step closer to him, "Because I'm too young? Or is it because you can't see me? I can change all these, can you give me a chance?"
Ji Su frowned slightly, "It's not about those issues."
"What was that?" Zheng Yian didn't understand, his alcohol-paralyzed brain continuing to heat up.
On impulse, he gripped Ji Su's thin shoulders with both hands, "Then tell me, how exactly can you like me?"
Ji Su was helpless and decided to be honest: "Because I'm already pregnant-"
Before the words left his mouth, he only felt a cold wind curling around his ears.
In the next instant, Zheng Yian was pushed backward several steps by a strong force and almost fell on the carpet.
Gu Zhao's face was grim, and his hand at his side was clenched into a dead fist as he picked him up by the collar.
"Gu Zhao!" Ji Su reacted and immediately opened his mouth to stop it.
Gu Zhao clenched the back of his teeth, and with an unnatural twitch of a muscle in his cheek, he lowered the fist he'd swung into mid-air and stepped back beside him.
Zheng Yian, mostly sober, looked at the two standing side by side and suddenly realized, "You ......"
"Right." Ji Su responded, taking the initiative to hold Gu Zhao's hand, "He's my boyfriend, we've been together for a long time."
The haze in Gu Zhao's eyes dissipated a few moments, and he clasped the hand back.
Although Zheng Yian didn't know what the identity of the man in front of her was, she herself had fallen short just by her height and looks.
Not to mention the well-tailored couture suit that signaled that the other man's family was no less than his.
Zheng Yian's eyes dimmed and his lips moved, wanting to say something but unable to.
Ji Su thoughtfully gave him a step down, "Zheng Shao, have fun, we'll leave first."
Zheng Yian watched the two pair's backs leave, but still couldn't help but ask in a loud voice, "If I was the one you met first, would I have had a chance?"
Ji Su's feet lurched as she felt the large hand holding her suddenly tighten a few points.
"No." He didn't turn around, and his voice was sure as hell as he returned, "No matter when I met him, I'm only going to fall in love with him."
He had met many people before Gu Zhao, and he continued to meet new people after Gu Zhao, but there was only one person he liked, Gu Zhao.
After these words, there was absolutely no movement behind Ji Su.
Gu Zhao gave him a sideways glance and led him outside.
Despite Ji Su's efforts to remedy the situation, Gu Zhao remained silent all the way back.
He wasn't a man of many words by nature, but he always had endless things to say in front of his lovers, and rarely had moments of such indifference.
So Ji Su knew that her boyfriend was still angry.
He quietly reached out and touched the large hand resting on the gear.
Gu Zhao's thin lips were pursed and he looked ahead without slanting his eyes.
Ji Su renewed his efforts and gently tickled his palm.
Gu Zhao withdraws his hand and rests it on his thigh.
Ji Su chased after him, running his pale pink fingertips along the fabric of his suit a few times and tucking his hand into the larger one.
Gu Zhao hit the steering wheel and pulled over to the side of the road, palpable fire pressed into his low voice, "Do you want me to fuck you up on the side of the road?"
Ji Su cringed and dutifully drew back his hand, "Don't want to ......"
The car rejoined the main road like a bolt of lightning through the dark night.
Tonight is Friday, and Gu Zhao drove the car straight back to the villa.
Seeing the car drove into the gate of the villa, Ji Su's heart was pounding: "Gu Zhao, I told you in advance about tonight's dinner party, and you also agreed."
Gu Zhao did not say anything, the side of his face is handsome and cold.
"I didn't know that Xiao Zheng would suddenly confess to me ...... " Ji Su tried to get leniency for himself, "but as you heard, I rejected him very cleanly."
Gu Zhao unbuckled his seatbelt, opened the door and got out, then went around to the passenger side and carried the man out.
Ji Su wrapped her arms around his neck and whispered, "You're not mad, are you?"
Gu Zhao gave a laugh and walked into the villa with a few big steps.
Not even bothering to go upstairs, he put the man directly on the piano in the first floor living room and roughly ripped off his bow tie with one hand.
This piano was specially bought by Gu Zhao from abroad and is worth a lot of money.
Ji Su was afraid that she would break the piano by sitting on it, and tried to move down, but she was pinched by a big hand on her waist, and her powerful knee pushed up.
"Gu Zhao ......" Ji Su's waist went limp, her fingers gripping the sturdy arm, "Not here ...... "
"No?" Gu Zhao bites on his lip, "If I can't, then who can?"
Knowing that her lover may be using the subject as a pretext, Ji Su can't resist it at all.
Late at night when all was silent, the messy, urgent sound of the piano continued in the villa, forming an unearthly tune with the broken and unpleasant human voices.
Ji Su's hands are propped up on the piano keys, and the sweat that spills from his body coats the black and white keys with a shine so slippery that he can't sit still.
Just as he was about to slide down, he was flipped over again in the grip of large hands and plopped down on the piano.
"Play." Gu Zhao devilishly spat the word in his ear, his breath so hot it warred with the soul, "If you can't talk about a piano piece tonight, don't go to sleep."
But Ji Su was having a hard enough time just supporting himself, there was no way he could play any tunes at all, all he could do was whimper and beg for forgiveness, "Hubby ...... Hubby I was wrong oo......"
"Oh?" Gu Zhao pinches the wet jaw, breaks it over and kisses it, "What's wrong?"
"I shouldn't ......" Ji Su returned brokenly, "shouldn't have gone to the potluck ......"
"Wrong." Zhao Gu's eyes darkened, "You're wrong for not being born so pretty, wrong for being so inviting."
Ji Su feels aggrieved, "I don't want to ...... don't want this ......"
Zhao Gu pressed, "Say, did you smile at another man behind my back?"
"No ......" Ji Su shook her head feebly, "I don't ......"
"I should never have let you go out." Gu Zhao looked more and more furious, and said through clenched teeth, "I should have kept you at home, chained to your bed, so that no one could look at you, and no one would dare to covet you again."
"Don't ......" Ji Su Theosophy nearly collapsed, "Husband don't lock me up ......"
"Don't like being locked up?" Gu Zhao picks him up on his front and heads for the stairs, "Then have a baby for your husband, okay?"
Ji Su cries and shakes her head, "You can't give birth ......"
"Why can't I give birth?" Gu Zhao stepped onto the stairs and said in a nasty tone, "Husband will try harder and he'll be able to have a baby."
Ji Su shrieked and clutched his sweaty neck for dear life, fearing he would be penetrated.
Gu Zhao carried him as easily as if he were a doll, one step at a time, upstairs.
When they returned to the second floor bedroom, Ji Su had already passed out.
However, the night is still long ......
