Parallel Worlds1
At the end of May, the weather is getting hotter and hotter.
Dressed in a simple white shirt and jeans, Ji Su sits at the window of a cafe, her soft frontal hair resting in front of her eyebrows, looking like a college student who hasn't graduated yet.
He has just finished a big project, and when he takes a break from working day and night, he is somehow set up on a blind date.
After graduating from the University of A, Ji Su devoted himself to the construction business, and is now a well-known name in the industry, but at the age of 28, he is still a loner.
As his best friend, Qiao Jin couldn't stand it any longer and tried to introduce him to someone.
It is said that the blind date is also a graduate of the University of A, opened a law firm, height of one meter 9.3, handsome appearance, good family, but the character is more cold, people do not get along very well.
Ji Su thought it was strange that a quality man of his caliber wouldn't be reduced to a blind date like him, right?
As his thoughts roamed, a low, magnetic voice rang in his ears, "Hello."
Ji Su lifted his face and suddenly crashed into a pair of dark, ink-like eyes.
He was stunned for a few seconds and snapped back, "Hello."
Gu Zhao held out his hand and said, "Gu Zhao."
Ji Su got up and shook his hand lightly, "Ji Su."
They sit down facing each other, and each orders.
After ordering, Ji Su couldn't help but quietly lift her eyelashes to look at the man sitting opposite her.
The other party seemed to be coming from some formal occasion, and was dressed in a straight black suit, which set off a good figure with broad shoulders and narrow waist.
His features were handsome and deep, his nose was high and straight, and the gold-framed glasses that rested on top of it appeared scholarly and ascetic.
It turns out that Qiao Jin wasn't exaggerating this time, and that Mr. Gu himself is even better than he described.
"Let me introduce my situation first." Gu Zhao raised his eyes and said succinctly, "I'm twenty-nine years old, I have a law firm with a friend, two suites in the city, and a villa on the beach. Single for twenty-nine years, never been in love, first blind date."
Ji Su looked surprised, but out of politeness did not make any comment.
"What?" Gu Zhao raised his eyebrows slightly, "Is something wrong?"
"No." Ji Su softly replied back, "I just think that with Lawyer Gu's superior qualifications, it shouldn't be difficult to find a suitable match."
"Finding an object is not difficult." Gu Zhao laughed, "Finding someone you like is hard."
Ji Su nodded his head in agreement and then introduced himself, "I'm twenty-eight years old, I'm working as an architectural designer in an architectural company, I haven't bought a house yet, I'm living in an apartment suite provided by the company, I have a little bit of savings in my hand but not much."
In fact, in the past two years, he started to take over big projects one after another, only the money he earned had to be used to pay back the Ji family's debts, and the money left in his own hands was not much.
He knows that his qualifications are not attractive in either the relationship or dating market, so he has been concentrating on his work, and this time he couldn't resist Qiao Jin before coming to meet his date.
Gu Zhao looked at him, "Anything else to add?"
Ji Su blinked her eyelashes and suddenly responded, "By the way, I've never been in a relationship either, and it's my first blind date as well."
Gu Zhao slightly hooked his lips, "Such a coincidence."
At that moment coffee was served and the two of them chatted as they drank.
It's more like asking questions than chatting, and Ji Su answers them with a straight face, like a schoolboy.
A cup of coffee at the end of the day, Gu Zhao raised his hand and looked at his wristwatch, "It's getting late."
Ji Su understood and took the initiative to say, "If Lawyer Gu has something to do, he can go ahead."
"I'm fine." Gu Zhao put down his hand, "Does Mr. Ji still have to work late at night?"
Ji Su shook her head honestly, "Not tonight."
"That's just right, let's have dinner together." Gu Zhao asked, "What would you like to eat?"
Ji Su was a little confused, "Dinner together?"
Gu Zhao's tone was calm, "Inconvenient?"
"No, convenient." Ji Su signaled the waiter, "Hello, check please."
The two left the cafe and went to a Chinese restaurant recommended by Gu Zhao.
This restaurant is very good, Ji Su concentrated on eating, Gu Zhao is not a man of many words, the two occasionally chat a few words, talking about irrelevant topics.
In fact, Ji Su had already prepared himself psychologically before coming here, but the other party was not as cold as he expected.
On the contrary, it feels kinda gentlemanly to get along.
When the meal was almost over, Ji Su excused himself to go to the bathroom to pay the bill, but was told that Lawyer Gu was a VIP of the restaurant and did not need to pay the bill separately.
He turned silently and walked back toward the box.
Sure enough, lawyers are rich.
Ji Su returned to the box and found Gu Zhao on the phone.
The large, bony hand gripped the cell phone, the other clasped on the desktop, the rolled up shirt cuff revealing a sturdy little arm, the voice not loud, but sounding oppressive.
Seeing him come back, Gu Zhao said to the other end of the line, "That's it for now."
Ji Su walks over, "Is it work?"
"Nothing." Gu Zhao put away his cell phone, "Have you had enough?"
Ji Su responded, "I'm full."
Gu Zhao got up and picked up his suit jacket that was hanging off to the side, "Let's go then."
Ji Su followed him out of the restaurant.
Gu Zhao drove a low-profile Cayenne and parked on the side of the road.
"Where do you live?" He turned and said, "I'll take you back."
"No need, Counselor Gu." Ji Su politely declined, "I live close by."
Gu Zhao's eyes drooped slightly, "What if I insist?"
Eventually, he drove the person to the door of the neighborhood, as he had hoped.
Ji Su unbuckled her seatbelt, "Lawyer Gu, thank you for treating me to dinner tonight and taking me home."
Gu Zhao looked at him sideways, "Just saying thank you?"
Ji Su wasn't so sure, "So what does Counselor Gu mean by ......"
Gu Zhao rightfully returned, "Next time it's your turn to treat."
Ji Su was silent for a few seconds and asked, "So, when is Counselor Gu available?"
Gu Zhao withdrew his eyes, "I'll tell you when I have time."
"Good." Ji Su pursed her lips, "Then Counselor Gu, I'll go back first."
Gu Zhao responded, "Uh-huh."
Ji Su opened the car door, got out, and walked towards the entrance of the neighborhood.
Gu Zhao sat in the car, his sultry gaze falling through the half-open window on the long, straight legs encased in jeans.
He didn't raise the window glass and restart the car until the handsome and upright back completely disappeared from sight.

Ji Su returned home and had just changed into his slippers when his cell phone, which was in his pocket, vibrated like crazy.
He pulled out his cell phone, picked up the call, and before he could speak, Qiao Jin's voice came from the other side: "Susu are you home yet?"
Ji Su walks towards the couch, "Just got home."
Qiao Jin couldn't wait to ask, "How about it? Isn't Mr. Gu Da handsome in person?"
"Well ......" Ji Su replied back, "it sure is cool."
According to the information given by Qiao Jin, Gu Zhao was a popular schoolboy at the University of A back then, but he didn't know anything about it because he didn't listen to what was happening outside the window during his college years, and immersed himself in his studies and part-time job.
"Right right? I told you I wouldn't screw you over, right?" Qiao Jin squealed with excitement on the other end of the line, "So how do you two feel after meeting? Is there a movie in the works?"
Ji Su thought for a moment, "It should be hopeless."
Qiao Jin: "Why!"
"Because the conditions between us are much different." Ji Su sat down on the couch, "And, I feel like he's not really interested in me."
Although the other party invited him to dinner, it may just be a case of good manners, verbalizing that he should return the invitation, but not even adding his WeChat.
The word "available" is the biggest lie an adult can tell.
"No-" Qiao Jin was anxious, "You tell me everything that happened on your two dates today, and I'll analyze it for you!"
Ji Su briefly summarized and finally concluded, "I think he's just more sassy."
"Huh?" Qiao Jin seemed to have heard something out of the blue, "Susu, you're saying that Counselor Gu Da has manners?"
Ji Su doesn't understand, "What's the problem?"
"There is a problem, there is a big problem!" Qiao Jin said with a crackle, "Gu Da lawyer is famous for his high cold and poisonous tongue, no matter if you are the client or the other side of the lawyers, all can be scolded by him until he cries, you are the first person to say that he has manners!"
Ji Su : "Is that so ......"
Qiao Jin concluded, "I can guarantee that with this behavior, there's absolutely no way he's not interested in you at all!"
Ji Su pinched his brow with his fingertips, "I don't know anymore."
Qiao Jin turned the tables, "What about you, do you have feelings for him?"
"I ......" Ji Su eyes floated to the handsome face, "If he is willing to continue to contact, I am not opposed to it."
It is indeed rare to come across someone who is impeccably good in every aspect like Mr. Gu in the dating market.
But he still thinks that Gu Zhao should not be able to see him.
"There's drama there's drama!" Qiao Jin jumped up and down excitedly, "Greatly dramatic!"
Ji Su was amused, "Xiao Qiao, when did you go to further your Japanese studies?"
Qiao Jin heatedly poor with him for a few moments when he suddenly remembered a question, "By the way, you still haven't told me through whom did you introduce Gu Zhao to me for a blind date?"
"Zhou Yang, do you remember me mentioning him to you?" Qiao Jin said a name, "He and Gu Zhao were college roommates, they were very close."
Ji Su asked, "Why are you setting me up with other people when you're not even done with Zhou Yang?"
"Aiya, that's not the same thing!" Qiao Jin quickly explained, "It was Zhou Yang himself who approached me and asked me to introduce his brother to someone, so I thought of you right away!"
Ji Su smiled, "Then I thank you in advance."

For the next few days, Ji Su worked at the company's headquarters.
Unsurprisingly, Gu Zhao hasn't contacted him again, and he hasn't initiated anything.
If the other party intends to continue contact, naturally they will go to the introducer to ask for his contact information, now this situation, it should mean that there is no follow-up.
That afternoon, Ji Su was sitting at his desk drawing a picture when there was a knock on the door.
"Teacher Ji." The little assistant called out respectfully, "Mr. Gao wants you to go to his office."
Ji Su closed the computer, "Okay, I'll be right there."
He walked out of the office and across the long corridor to the door of Mr. Gao's office and raised his hand to knock on the door.
"Come in." A familiar voice came from inside.
Ji Su pushed the door and saw the tall and straight back in front of the floor-to-ceiling window.
The other party turned around at the sound and seemed a bit surprised to see it was him, "Mr. Ji?"
Ji Su was jumping with emotion, "Counselor Gu."
Mr. Gao sat in the boss chair, "What, Gu Lv knows our chief designer?"
Gu Zhao took two steps toward Ji Su, "We had dinner together."
"Hahaha!" Mr. Gao stroked his palm and laughed, "Since we are all acquaintances, wouldn't it be more convenient to do this?"
Gu Zhao laughed too, "Who says it isn't."
Ji Su steadied himself, "Mr. Gao called me here?"
"Gu Lu has an undecorated villa and wants to find an architect to help him design it." Mr. Gao was half-joking and half-complimentary, "Gu Lu has extremely high aesthetic requirements, and ordinary designers can't meet his eyes, so I can only move you out."
Ji Su smiled and didn't respond for a moment.
"It's not as exaggerated as Mr. Gao said. Gu Zhao glanced at him and said nonchalantly, "I believe Mr. Ji, can satisfy me."
Ji Su suggested, "Counselor Gu could start by looking at my past works to see if they are the style you want."
Gu Zhao responded, "Okay, let's talk in your office."
Before leaving, Mr. Gao said meaningfully, "Ji Su, you must serve Gu Lu to your satisfaction."
Ji Su nodded slightly, "I'll do my best."
Soon, the two men walked into Ji Su's office one after the other.
Ji Su closed the door and was about to speak when he was preempted again.
Gu Zhao turned around, "I didn't know you were in this construction company beforehand."
"It's fine, I really didn't tell you either." Ji Su didn't think otherwise, "Tell you what, I'll recommend a designer with more seniority to Counselor Gu."
"You don't want to take this project?" Gu Zhao stared him in the eye, "Because the employer is me?"
"No." Ji Su was a bit embarrassed, "I thought Lawyer Gu wasn't too keen on seeing me."
After all, it was a failed blind date, and if he became his employer, he would inevitably meet often in the course of his work in the future, and he was afraid that the other party would feel offended.
Gu Zhao frowned, "Why do you think that?"
"Since Lawyer Gu doesn't mind, then it's fine with me." Ji Su decided to show his professionalism, "Lawyer Gu can tell us your general idea first, and I'll come up with a preliminary design."
"It's almost time for dinner." Gu Zhao glanced at his wristwatch, "We'll talk over dinner."
Ji Su hesitated, "But ......"
Gu Zhao reminded, "Mr. Ji, you still owe me a meal."
