Chapter 91: Last Place

on dinner in the civilian neighborhood.

After choosing what they wanted to eat, Ye Xun had just sat down when the young woman and her husband, who had been called up to the stage to be humiliated, came over and sat down with them.

The husband's eyes reddened slightly as he gratefully said, "We searched for days to find you guys ...... The night of the dance, you were the ones who helped me protest together, right? I really thank you guys so much."

The couple were newlyweds, the man's name was Li Wei and the woman's name was He Yao, and they boarded the boat because they could not afford to buy a house.

He Yao, a pretty but virtuous woman, wiped her tears silently, and Li Wei hugged her, regretting and wanting to slap herself, "I shouldn't have brought you to the dance that night."

He Yao patted his hand, "It can't be helped, if we don't participate in other activities on the ship, even if we manage to get off the ship, we won't get enough money to buy the house we're looking at."

Li Wei, who had a stomach full of anger, said in a muffled voice, "I'm no good, I'm sorry."

After they both calmed down, Zhuo Zhongqiu coughed his throat and asked, "Where did you learn that boarding a ship earns you money?"

Li Wei wiped her face, "The two of us worked in a bath center, she studied massage, I was a pedicurist for customers. One day when we were working, we met a very rich customer, he and I chatted for a couple of sentences, and gave me two tickets to the ship, saying that if I boarded the ship, I could earn a lot of money."

"We thought it was a guest playing a trick on us," He Yao followed in a small voice, "but a quick look on the Internet showed that the two tickets were worth thousands. We thought about it all night, bit the bullet, and took half a month's vacation to get on the boat."

"It's quite strange," Li Wei turned to her, "When I was giving a customer a pedicure that day, I accidentally cut his foot. I thought I would be docked wages, and I was scared for half a day, but the boss didn't feel any pain and didn't even mention it, and left in a hurry after giving me the ticket."

As they spoke, several waiters appeared pushing carts and placed bowls of fish soup on the tables of the crowd.

The fish soup was mellow and flavorful, and there was a piece of fish inside each bowl. Wen Renlian swirled his spoon around the soup a few times, and the fresh flavor flooded into his nose.

He suddenly remembered what Lisa had once told him, "Don't drink the fish soup."

Wenren Lian's hand lurched, and he whispered sideways to those around him, "Remember what I told you before? Don't use fish soup."

Zhuo Zhongqiu nodded and whispered the words to another.

Lu Youyi sits next to the couple and pushes the fish soup aside when prompted. The couple, however, picked up the bowl without warning, and Lu Youyi stopped them, "Don't drink it."

Li Wei held up the bowl, his mouth watering as he smelled the fresh flavor in the bowl, and wondered, "Why?"

Lu Youyi, agitated and speechless.

How could he know why, but there had to be a reason why Wen Renlian said that.

Seeing that he couldn't tell them why, plus the fish soup was right at their mouths, the couple still couldn't resist the temptation of the aroma and buried their heads in a sip.

Kuang Zheng silently examines the contents of the soup with a spoon.

In addition to the fish and spices, there was something clear and pulp-like in the soup.

What's this?

He lifted the spoon to his nose and sniffed, the mouth-watering aroma emanating from the flesh.

The pulp should be the key to the flavor of this fish soup. Even if Kuang Zheng doesn't crave for food, he feels hungry after smelling this flavor.

Li Wei couple on the side has finished two bowls of fish soup, they smacked their mouths, recalling the taste of the fish soup, "This soup tastes so good, and there are no thorns in the fish meat, so you will want to eat it again after you have eaten it."

Looking as if she hadn't had enough, Li Wei looked at the soup in front of Lu Youyi and her eyes lit up, "Aren't you going to eat it?"

Lu Youyi gulped and shook his head firmly, "I don't eat."

As soon as he spoke, Li Wei reached out and took his soup away, and before Lu Youyi could stop him, he took a sip against the bowl and said vaguely, "Then give it to me to eat."

A dinner was served and they just watched the others eat feverishly. The six men ate some bread without tasting it and went back to their rooms.

After carefully closing the door to the room behind him, Ye Xun took the lead and asked, "Winker, what's in the soup?"

Smeller even shook his head, "I don't know what's in the soup, I was told that by the Captain's daughter."

Zhuo Zhongqiu dragged his chin and thought, "The captain's daughter still needs to listen to what she says, so let's not eat it, and there's no shortage of this bowl of fish soup anyway."

She looked at Kuang Zheng with some hesitation and took the initiative to ask, "Kuang Zheng, what did you find out?"

"The flavor of the fish soup is so strong that it might be addictive." Kuang Zheng said uncertainly.

Speaking of the scent, Lu Youyi's stomach rumbled, and he said bitterly, "That smell is too overbearing, smelling the fish soup, I couldn't eat anything just now."

"Bear with me," Wen Renlian pulled out a packet of instant noodles and handed it to him, "Eat this to relieve your craving."

Lu Youyi did not want to eat, but could not resist the hunger, or soak the noodles, the aroma of the other people also came over, one person two mouths to solve the noodles, even the soup dregs are not left.

Lu Youyi is in tears, "When will these hard times end?"

Late at night, they returned to their respective rooms. In the middle of the night, Sai Liaoer was sleeping soundly in his bed when Kuang Zheng suddenly heard two footsteps outside stopping in front of their door.

After a few seconds of silence, the door lock clicked open.

Kuang Zheng's hand under the futon was clenched into a fist.

He kept his breathing steady as the two men outside the door stepped gingerly into the room, one to Kuang Zheng's bed, the other to Sai Liaoer's front.

Kuang Zheng's forehead was swept by some machine, and someone whispered, "No fever."

The man then peeled back Kuang Zheng's eyelids and looked at them with a light, "No change in the eyeballs."

In the brief interlude of having his eyelids peeled back, Kuang Zheng recognizes the man as what appears to be one of the ship's crew.

The other replied, "This one is also asymptomatic, let's go."

After a few moments, silence returned to the room.

Kuang Zheng waited for a while before opening his eyes. First, he got out of bed to check on Sai Liaoer, who was sleeping with his hair in disarray, looking incredibly happy. Kuang Zheng made sure he was okay, then walked over to the door and looked out through the cat's eye.

In the light of the corridor, two crewmen in dusters entered civilian rooms one by one, occasionally moving some civilian out and placing them on the floor.

It was as if these civilians had passed out, and there was no reaction to such a great commotion. Their faces were flushed and they were breathing heavily, as if they had a fever.

Soon the area was inspected. Two crew members dragged the people in the corridor away, and Kuang Zheng saw Li Wei and He Yao among those being dragged away.

Li Wei's face was even more red and scary, and her chest rose and fell violently.

The two crews hauled away dozens of people, and it was an hour after the last one was hauled away.

Kuang Zheng loosened his stiff muscles as he pressed a glass against the door and sat beside Sai Liaoer to watch over him until dawn. Kuang Zheng wakes Sai Liaoer only when there are sounds of other people moving around outside.

At breakfast time, the six men met. Thankfully, none of them were taken by the crew.

Ye Xun's first words upon seeing them were, "Last night's fish soup was drugged with sleeping pills."

There were many more questions before them.

Why did the crew give them sleeping pills? And where did they take those people?

There were more than twenty people missing all of a sudden, not only Kuang Zheng and the others, there were also other people who realized that something was wrong. It is extremely frightening to realize that people around you have disappeared without a trace. The crew member on duty in the dining room was Cheng Li, people kept asking him where those people had gone, he didn't bother to answer at first, but in the end he got tired of being asked, and said distractedly, "Those people had a fever last night, in order to prevent infections, we switched those who were sick to another place."

"Where's the other place?" A girl pursued anxiously.

Cheng Li cursed impatiently, "Bilge, all in the bilge!"

Someone just couldn't help it, "What's with the attitude?"

Cheng Li smiled coldly, "If you guys have the guts, go complain about me."

The friction between the civilian neighborhoods and the crew quickly spread to the richer neighborhoods.

Jiang Luo and Ge Zhu exchanged glances, intending to find an opportunity to visit their buddies in the civilian area.

The day passed uneventfully. In the evening, Jiang Luo and his team went to the auction hall and sat at the end of the crowd.

The person presiding over this auction was none other than the captain. Before the auction, the captain gave a definite time with a big smile, "Three days from now is the most suitable time to consume the blood eel, and the first batch of diners will only be ten people. We don't use an open bidding format, instead, each guest will write their name and the price they can afford on a piece of paper, and we'll use the first ten from highest to lowest."

It's quick and easy, but it's psychologically torturous for the rich. Jiang Luo and Ge Zhu are quite indifferent; they have no money at all.

When it came time to write the price, they both pitched right on the blank roll.

The captain took the crew and organized the price list, and ten minutes later, the captain returned to the stage with the list, "Congratulations to these ten gentlemen and ladies for qualifying to taste the blood eel in three days."

"Mr. Zhao Juezhi, Miss Yoona ......"

Every time the captain read out a name, the faces of the rich people who weren't read out paled. Jiang Luo was close to watching the show with his melon seeds, and he told Ge Zhu, "Look at the one in the first row, his face is yellow."

By the time the ninth name was read, many of the rich and powerful were already looking disheveled, and others raised their hands in resignation and said, "Captain, can we re-bid?"

The captain gave him an apologetic look, "I'm sorry, but the list cannot be changed after it has been chosen. But you can wait for the second batch of spots to taste the blood eel, and the second batch was very good."

He then read the last name: "...... Mr. Zhong Wei."

Before Jiang Luo could react to who "Zhong Wei" was, Ge Zhu had already turned his head to him in a daze, "How come it's you?"
